Dual-Motor Tesla Model 3 “Probably” Coming In July

According to the Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the long-awaited dual-motor Tesla Model 3 will “probably” arrive in July. This piece of information comes after Musk was asked on Twitter about their plans on the all-wheel-drive Model 3, where he replied that the company needs to achieve its goal of building 5000 Model 3s a week before it considers “adding complexity that would inhibit production ramp.”

Similar to the dual-motor configuration used by the Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles, the dual-motor Tesla Model 3 will surely offer an improved range over the RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) model and produce improved acceleration numbers as well. While pricing still remains unclear, we’ve got no qualm about the potential of Tesla Motors customers to spend over $50,000 on well-equipped dual-motor Model 3 units – when they come out.

For the time being, Tesla Motors is only building the Tesla Model 3 with the “Long Range” battery pack and only with a single interior option. A second option, with a complete white upholstery, is in the works. The industry expects Tesla to start building the entry-level Model 3s soon, as the production of the all-electric sedan ramps up. Currently, the production numbers are somewhat way off, as Tesla is struggling to keep up with production demands. The company believes they will be able to deliver its 200,00th vehicle later in the year, negating the eligibility for their customers for the $7,500 tax credit issued by the government right now, making the Model 3 significantly more expensive.
